Hello, for those who aren’t following me, I’m Case, a musician and voice actor. I run the blogs AskKarkatVoice and ImagineYuorOTP, and I’m part of the music team and cast for Featherbent.

So, I live with my dad, and we manage to scrape by living with just enough for bills at the end of the month. I’ve always tried to help with costs here and there with the money I make, which isn’t much, but I imagine every little bit helps. I also have to pay for certain things myself, like college.

My dad found out today he is going to need surgery that will cost 20,000 dollars, and our insurance company won’t pay more than 9,000 dollars. On top of that, he’ll be unable to work for over 4 weeks, meaning 4 weeks of no income from him.

We’re going broke and we need to come up with $11,000very soon or else we risk losing everything.

His surgery is June 11th. We won’t have much longer to come up with the money than that. 

We’ve been in the hole for much longer than this, but to keep integrity, I never wanted to ask anything of my followers. This is different.

We need help. $11,000 of it. If my dad doesn’t go through with this surgery it could kill him. And if we don’t have the money in a few months, we will be so far in debt I don’t know what they’ll repossess from us.

There are a lot of ways you can help, and most of them are donating and getting nothing in return!

To start off, my dad is selling a book on amazon, The Mim Index, for 5 dollars. It’s basically a political thriller that takes a lot of “what ifs” of the near future and pushes them to the extremes. 

Method number two. I have a Bandcamp page where I currently have an album titled Trying Too Hard that you can pay the set price, or more for. The listed price is 5 dollars, but If you could please chip in more, it is much appreciated. I will also have an EP with a similar model coming out soon, We Mars, and it might be there by the time you read this.

Method number three, Very soon I am opening up voice acting commissions. I’m preparing a short info-video for it to announce it, but if you want to get in early and make some requests, here is where to do so.

And finally, Method number four, donations. I’ve set up a GoFundMe page with a goal of at over half what we need. The payments don’t run through paypal and it’s easier to withdraw, plus there’s no end date. 

Anything you can do to help is appreciated. We really need anything we can get. Please spread this around and let others know, things are extremely hard and you all have my utmost gratitude in advance.

OKAY SO HERE’S THE THING

I live in the Atlanta area and anyone who lives in a big city knows how bad the traffic gets around five o’clock. Which, unfortunately, is when I have to leave for class.

My car is totalled due to a wreck I had on 5/14/13. I don’t need help with the insurance payments, or the tickets that followed the accident, but I do need help.

Everything that happened because of this accident I’m paying for already. I don’t expect help with the tickets because those are all on me and my own fault.

I’m a single mom, work a minimum wage job, go to night school, and have a six year old son with speech and learning problems. My son has doctor, dentist, and neurologist appointments along with needing me to go to his school for meetings with the special education teachers.

I can walk to work, that’s no problem, and I can get rides to school if I desperately need to because my school is very close. I cannot however manage the half hour drives and all day trips that are my kid’s doctor appointments without a vehicle of my own.

I’m trying everything I can, but on such a small paycheck, and being the only one in my house with a job, I barely have enough to pay the bills as it is. At the end of the month I’m left with about $20 to my name, and that usually gets spent on more gas.

I’m not just asking for help here on tumblr. I’m selling my BJD collection, giving up every outing we had planned, borrowing money, and doing everything I can think of to try and make enough money to buy a car. It doesn’t even have to be a nice car.

I need about $1000 to actually get a vehicle that I’m confident I can drive with my son inside. Currently I have nothing, since this just happened, but I would really appreciate help. If you can’t help, could you please signal boost this for me?

It’s actually breaking me to type this out. No one wants to have to make one of these posts, but I have to think of what’s best for my family and do everything in my power to make things right so that they can be taken care of.

Alright, I’m going to a pull a Tumblr and ask for help. But I’m going to need to tell people a story to ask for help.

I’m already 20 years old, but due to a medical issue that was already resolved in January, I’m still stuck at home. Both of my parents are emotionally abusive. Let me explain how.

My father has stuck a rifle in my face, thrown plates at my head, called me faggot and told me to go fuck myself. He licks whatever utensil he uses to create a meal on my behalf, has horrid road rage and doesn’t hesitate to threaten physical violence against our two pet dogs, among other people. He tells me that my sexuality does not exist, that I will be beaten up if I don’t gain weight, I’m annoying and I should be doing better than I already am, after two organ transplants and a bout with depression.

My mother is not quite as violent, but she abets his behavior - standing by and doing nothing while she witnesses any of these things happening. Recently she has told me to pity him, but she refuses to stand up to him for me.

This is the most recent situation. I am trying to get away from both of them and the state I am in (Texas), just for the summer, since I have school starting in August. I have been speaking with friends in Florida, but my mother recently has been sending emails sabotaging my attempt to get away from my family situation by calling it a ‘vacation for a couple of weeks’ and that I’m unstable enough to forget my own immunosupressant medication. She is making the family unwilling to believe in either me or what’s going on.

So now, Tumblr, I will count on you. I need to get out of here before something else happens to me to continue my emotional abuse, and I need to do so in a way that my mother cannot smother my attempts to do so. If you’re outside of Texas but willing and able to take someone in over the summer (with hopefully a nicer family environment from what I’ve been witnessing and feeling for the past several years), please be willing to take my request into account. I don’t mean to cause a burden, but… I do need to leave here as fast as possible. 

Things here are very nearly as bad as bad can be.

…Well, not quite, but if they get any worse I’m going to start wishing I was dead in a more serious fashion.  Click the Read More below for details.  To sum up: I’m at poverty level with my son and yesterday had a guy rear-end my faithful nearly-13-year-old car that we desperately depend on.  We can’t survive without transportation; my son is autistic and has supplements and foods we have to drive around to get, due to allergies, not to mention therapy/doctor appointments, and I need the car to take the stuff I make to get by places to sell.  We have nothing to get the car fixed (cheap insurance = higher deductable, but let’s face it, I don’t even have for a low one right now thanks to a hard year) and have lots of other problems too, so this is a much more dire plea for signal boosting and help than the one I thought I’d be making.

• BUY MY STUFF.  More being posted as fast as I can go.  I have BJDs (soon to be posted), I have genre books (many vintage), I have action figures and just… stuff.  I used to collect a lot - then I had a kid and took up that responsibility instead.  Maybe I have something you want.
• BUY MY JEWELRY AND/OR SCULPTURES AND/OR COSPLAY ACCESSORIES.  I do thumb-sized sculptures including personal Cthulhu idols and Slendermen.  I’ll do custom designs, colors, and themes, too.  And custom cameos in polymer clay (resin if we’re lucky w/weather and I can afford the materials).  One of my pieces of jewelry was awarded a ribbon last weekend at the StarFest art show (which blows my mind considering the competition).  Posting more as fast as I can.  The first link there is to my Etsy, but on my business Facebook page, there’s albums of past work, and there’s things there that haven’t made it to Etsy yet, like sculptures.
• COMMISSION ME FOR SEWING!  I do everything from everyday to cosplay to formal/bridal.  Everything.  I make fleece animal/monster hats of all sorts and have cat harness/costume and cat bed designs in progress, and I can do sewing for BJDs.  If I can make enough to get by on, I even have an embroidery machine and a serger sewing machine (which I hope works) to learn to use.  I’ve won cosplay awards, including a craftsmanship (I think, I couldn’t hear well) award at MTAC a few years ago.  I have instructions for measurements here, and I have figures for drawing custom designs on if you want here (that’s as good as my drawing skill is right now :P ).
• COMMISSION ME FOR WRITING OR EDITING.  I’ve not done it professionally outside of doing the manual for the costume rental shop I used to be a manager for before I had my son, but I’ve been strong in these areas my entire life.  Here, have links to my fanfiction.net and co-writing fanfiction.net accounts for examples of work.
• POINT ME AT LEGIT WORK-FROM-HOME JOBS THAT DON’T INVOLVE ME BEING ON THE PHONE.  That’s just not possible with my son even when he’s not actively trying to get the phone.  I know they exist, but so far trying to decipher which ones are real/how to get into them while juggling my health and my son and trying to make enough to survive already hasn’t worked, and I don’t know who to go to for help.  And good grief has some of that burned me already.  I HAVE A CIVIL ENGINEERING DEGREE, AN ANTHROPOLOGY/HISTORY DEGREE, A LIFELONG PASSION FOR WRITING, HAVE BEEN A SUCCESSFUL STORE MANAGER, AND VOLUNTEER AT A CAT SHELTER, not to mention being a household manager with an autistic kid and having my own business/doing all the attendant taxes myself.  Somebody has to have work I can do.  Unless you’ve been through it, you have no idea how frustrating this one is.  :(
• I’m in Colorado Springs and can work outside of home while my son’s in school, provided you can deal with my having to leave or call off if he’s sick or his behavior tanks (which can happen several times in a week or not at all).  I can’t work when he’s not in school (or with his dad) because I have no one to turn to for day-care.  But I can clean and organize like whoa.  Moving or just have more stuff/house than you can handle yourself?  I can totally help.

So uh… a lot has happened these last few days.

Two days ago, my parents’ car got locked (because the car payment was due) and on top of that, the lights are off due to a steep bill for coping with the strangely chilly weather.

Fortunately, the car isn’t locked anymore, but that still leaves the light bill AND the food supply we have to rebuild because our refrigerator is off, and the food in there will thaw and spoil.

I’m lucky to due to have a second interview this monday, but based on the info I’ve gotten, it’ll be at least another week or two before I begin working part time. That’s if I’m even lucky enough to land the job.

Please, please, please commission me! It’s the only income I’ve got for now to supplement my working mother’s paycheck, and she’s struggling enough to make ends meet by herself.

If you can’t commission me, I would really appreciate a signal boost!
